What is it with these Chinese massage places here in Colorado? I have been to several, and they always interrupt the session to take a phone call. It's rude and disruptive.

I don't want to say anything, as it would ruin the mood (even more than they did by taking the call).

Is this the new normal?

Unfortunately yes - we are seeing this more and more everywhere, not just during massages. Since most of the massage businesses do their communication over the phones they are constantly looking at it to set up the next visit and future appointments. I do not think it would be inappropriate for you to ask them to leave the phone off or outside during your session. It is unfortunate that our new social devices and apps have made us less in-tune to social correctness.
